The Lady Captain for 2018 is Sue Fisher who extends a warm welcome to members and visitors.
It is a fantastic honour to have been named the Lady Captain of Kenwick Park Golf Club and I am thoroughly looking to the next 12 months. Alongside Steve Clarke hopefully we will be able to laugh along the way and have a thoroughly good time.
I have played for a number of years and currently play off a handicap of 13 and although I will be playing lots of golf I suspect I will not be challenging my Lowest ever Handicap which was 11.
My Golfing Highlight came away from Kenwick when I won the Women's Club Championship at Market Rasen on 2 separate occasions in 1999 & 2001. Prior to being a member at Market Rasen I had learned to play at Sandilands.
In 1995 the Kenwick Park Ladies won the Mail on Sunday Golf Classic which was held in France. It was a fantastic achievement for a club of our age and I had the pleasure of being there to watch my sister Birdie Dawson hole the putt that clinched the title. Since then I have been back to Champ de Bataille to play and for many reasons I would say it is my favourite course, after Kenwick!!
This year I hope to raise as much money as possible in support of the St Barnabas Hospice in memory of a dear friend who lost their life this year.
Kenwick Park has a very friendly Womens Section that play on Tuesday mornings at 10.00am. New members are always given a warm welcome. The Lady Vice Captain will contact all new members to welcome them, explain everything they need to know about the section and invite them to play.
With a strong and competitive section, we have two league teams. We also play a series of friendly matches against local clubs throughout the season.
On Thursday mornings the Senior Ladies roll up to tee off at 9.30 a.m.
