Welcome to the Seniors Section

The Senior's Captain for 2018 is Steve Blackburn who will be supported by vice Captain Alan Smaggasgale. They would like to extend a warm welcome to members and visitors.

All male members are welcomed to join the Seniors Section on their 55th birthday.

The Seniors meet every Wednesday morning in the clubhouse at 9am for a draw before teeing off from 9.30am (Dec/Jan/February). The Senior Captain will announce the game of the day. There are a number of individual competitions, including a Senior Championship. There are also a Seniors Invitation Day and a Seniors Open Day.

The Seniors play friendly matches, home and away, against 8 other local clubs. This is an excelllent way to play those courses and make friends.

For this year we will continue a half way house facility for all home matches, for Invitation Day, the Seniors Open and the Christmas Turkey Trot which will be run by volunteers from the Lincolnshire Wolds Riding for the Disabled Association.

Lowlights for a change - I'm back!

Highlight is the meal on the 14th after golf This is apparently some sort of significant day so wives/girlfriends or whatever are welcome to join us on this one. An idea of numbers to me please to me.

A little experiment

For January and February 2018 the seniors committee wish to trial a little tweak whereby the precious Lincolnshire currency can be kept within the county rather than sailing away on the next tide on board the Black Pig or further inflating our cartoon characters off shore bank accounts. I fully appreciate there is no reality aspect to this but Bernie taking it home to Humberside does not quite have the same impact.

The winnings from roll ups or competitions will get credited to the pro shop accounts for those who aren't me and actually win something during the trial period. The winners will continue to be announced on the day by the captain after golf but for those who do need to be elsewhere and cannot stop this will take care of things. A similar approach is taken by the Ladies Section. Just a trial but if it goes well we can extend it

Seniors Members Contact list

Following discussions with Karen there is a quick and easy way of authorising your personal contact details to display on the contact details section of the club website which can only be accessed by members who are logged onto the system. I have sent an e-newsletter which details how to do this to you but is quite straightforward if you log in to the members section and bring up your own profile. You can then tick which boxes you wish to authorise these details to be displayed. Have a go but any problems both Karen or I will be happy to assist.
