A History of International Success
The academy was set up in 1993 by our now Director of Golf, Eric Sharp, who was at that time the Club Professional. Eric was already a renowned teacher of golf, a reputation gained by years of international success; his protégés have represented their country at virtually every level from boy and girl international through to the very pinnacle of both the amateur and professional game including the Curtis Cup, Walker Cup, World Cup and Ryder Cup.
So to the Future
Eric has now handed the running of the academy to Kenwick’s joint professionals, Michael Langford and Paul Spence, both of whom are eminently qualified to continue the past success. Michael is a past recipient of the prestigious PGA Graduate of the Year award and is the present Lincolnshire PGA Captain.
Paul Spence is a Lincolnshire County Coach and Neuro Linguistic Practitioner (NLP Certified) who has already produced some outstanding young golfers. Among them Jessica Schiele, a young lady who under Paul’s guidance, has developed into one of Lincolnshire’s finest young golfers, her success has gained her a golf scholarship at Redlands University in Oklahoma.
The latest young talent emerging from the Academy is one of the countries finest young golfers, thirteen year old Ashton Turner, who through his golf exploits such as, being the leading European in the Worlds Kid’s Championship at Pinehurst in the USA, was named 2009 Lincolnshire Young Sportsman of the Year. Ashton already a 2 handicap golfer holds the Kenwick Park course record with a three under SSS score of 70.
The Kenwick Park Golf Academy is dedicated to developing the talents of young golfers.
